ICB Level 1 Basic Bookkeeping

The ICB Basic Bookkeeping Level 1 course has been designed for people wishing to develop an understanding of the basic concepts of double entry bookkeeping and in doing so gain a professional bookkeeping qualification. The course is also the prerequisite for ICB Manual Bookkeeping Level 2 and ICB Computerised Bookkeeping level 2 qualifications.

Prerequisites.
There are no prerequisites for this course. It is designed for complete beginners.

ICB Level 2 Manual Bookkeeping

The ICB Level 2 Manual Bookkeeping Certificate course has been designed to follow on from ICB Level 1 Certificate and is ideal for people wishing to develop their bookkeeping skills and qualifications further. This level of certification is recommended by the Institute as being the minimum requirement to legally trade as a bookkeeper and use the letters AICB after your name.

Prerequisites.
The ICB Level 1 Manual Bookkeeping Certificate or equivalent must have been completed prior to being able to sit the examination for this level.

ICB Level 3 manual Bookkeeping

The ICB Level 3 Manual Bookkeeping Diploma course has been designed to follow on from ICB Level 2 Certificate and is ideal for people wishing to develop their bookkeeping skills and qualifications to a technical level. Thus enabling you to carry out bookkeeping tasks for Partnerships and Limited Companies.

Prerequisites.
The ICB Level 2 Manual Bookkeeping Certificate or equivalent must have been completed prior to being able to sit the examination for this level.

ICB Computerised Bookkeeping Level 2

Students should have a knowledge of manual bookkeeping principles before commencing this course:
An understanding of ICB Level II manual book-keeping is required. If you plan on sitting the examination for the Level III Diploma in Computerised Book-keeping, a knowledge of the ICB Level III manual principles is required.

Payroll management course

The overall aim of this course is to teach you how to apply the basic calculations and preparation of both a weekly and monthly payroll, using both manual and computerised systems.

The course covers, in detail, the income tax and National Insurance calculations for the PAYE employee. You are introduced to dealing with additional payments and allowances, via the Income tax system, such as Tax Credits, the payment of statutory payments for sickness, maternity leave, adoption pay and paternity pay. The course also deals with the treatment of student loan repayments, and the practice relating to both further routine and some non-routine tasks.

What's Provided:
Home Study and how it works
Studying from home allows you to work in a way that suits you best with a limited change to your normal daily routine. It is a cost effective way of enhancing and developing your skills and thereby improving your career prospects. Home study has been proved to be a flexible and effective study method by literally thousands of successful students over the years.

• Each course consists of a series of lessons At the end of each lesson or section there are questions which must be completed and submitted to the tutor. The answers can be sent by post or E-Mail.
• Your answers are marked, commented on and valuable personalised individual feedback is given.
• Communications are always maintained throughout and your tutor is available to discuss individual needs.
• Once marked, your answers are returned to you either by post or E-Mail together with a set of 'model' answers. In this way your progress is monitored, you can work at your own pace and build up a 'library' of model answers.
• Once satisfied you can then request a mock exam paper. This is your final preparation prior to taking the exam proper. Again feedback will be provided and instructed to either work through a topic again or be advised that you should now be ready to take the full exam.
• On your instructions we will arrange this exam for you and pay the appropriate fee.
